South Mississippi

Between toilet issues and miserable weather we decided to spend another day near Biloxi, MS – although we didn’t see much other than a tiny bit of the campground and a lot of the inside of the RV! Our neighbors didn’t seem to mind the weather.IMG_4904

The first day I did two loads of laundry in our tiny washer & dryer (the campground laundry might have been quicker but I didn’t have quarters) after Charlie dealt with the toilet issues. I also rearranged a bit & found homes for more of our stuff. The second day was still cold but thankfully it had stopped raining – I worked on a plan for the next few days while Charlie worked on the installation of his electronics.

Camping World in Biloxi actually answered their phones on New Year’s Day so we arranged a service appointment for the next day hoping they could fix our leaking toilet on our way out of town. We felt lucky that they had us on the road in about 2 1/2 hours for a relatively reasonable price.

Since we only had a short drive to our next stop we asked the service manager if there was anything interesting along the way to New Orleans. He suggested a visit to Infinity Science Center. The exhibits were interesting but many were hands-on and geared toward children. I did climb up to have my picture taken in a space suit.

Unfortunately we did not have time for the bus tour offering a behind-the-scenes look at the NASA/Stennis Space Center rocket engine test facility

Then it was back on Interstate 10 and into Louisiana. The Twin Span Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain seemed to go on forever (only about 5 1/2 miles)!20180102_151803

We’ll unpack our down parkas and head for the French Quarter after breakfast!
