Western Maine

Leaving Acadia National Park we headed back towards Bangor then almost due west. Lovely countryside and spring has definitely sprung – much more green showing than on our way from Bangor to Acadia a little less than a week ago.

Beautiful buildings and unique signs were the main sights for the day. The rather unique steeple on this Methodist Church caught my eye – I’ve never seen anything like it before! And the Norridgewock Grange Hall is just beautiful.

Deer and moose crossing signs were expected but this one was a bit more unusual. Snowmobile_Crossing

We crossed the Kennebec River and saw a small wind farm.

But the most exciting thing was going through Mexico without needing our passports!

Our campground for the next two nights is along the Androscoggin River. Nothing nearby (it was just a convenient stopping point) so we walked around the campground and got a picture of the bumper sticker on their dump truck (got truck for wife – good trade). Later Charlie flew the drone and got pictures of the campground and river.
